Presidio La Bahia was moved to the lower San Antonio River in 1749 to guard a very important road, the El Camino Real! This year, the Presidio will focus on a group of filibusters who took over the fort in 1812, the Republican Army of the North, better known as the Gutierrez-Magee Expedition. Presentations and Living Historians will help to tell this fascinating story.
Presidio La Bahia is proud to once again partner with the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Association to highlight the significance of this once very important road.
In addition, October is Archeology month, the Presidio will also have a pinch pot activity for everyone to join.
